3 Panel Sessions

Hays County Film Advisory Board is proud to present the Lights! Camera! Community! location workshop to promote film-ready locations in Hays County. The workshop will include three panels and be held at the Hays County Election Building Conference Center at 120 Stagecoach Trail in San Marcos, on January 29, 2026, from 12:00 to 5:00 PM , followed by a networking happy hour.

• Film Friendly City Session: representatives from Buda, Dripping Springs, Kyle, San Marcos and Wimberley will outline their policies, applications and procedures for obtaining film permitting.
• Location Scouts and Managers Session: Hear from professional location scouts about their role in film production and what they look for when evaluating commercial, governmental, and residential properties as potential filming locations.
• Film Commission and Location Hub: The Austin Film Commission and Texas Film Commission will introduce the Location Hub and explain how to register your commercial or residential property to be considered for film productions.
